Find Veterans Service Officer
The State of Missouri has 41 highly trained and accredited Veterans Service Officers to assist you in filing for VA benefits. They are located across the state and are divided into 5 regions and almost every county.

Kansas City Honor Flight recognizes American veterans for your sacrifices and achievements by flying you to Washington, DC to see YOUR memorial at no cost. Top priority is given to WW II and terminally ill veterans from all wars. In the future, Honor Flight will be expanded to include Korean and Vietnam veterans. In order for Honor Flight to achieve this goal, guardians fly with the veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping veterans have a safe, memorable and rewarding experience. VVA CHAPTER #243 welcomes all our brothers and sisters who served in Vietnam between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975, or in any duty location between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975. The Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Higginsville conducted its first interment on 10 January, 2000. The cemetery is located on 55 gently rolling acres in an attractive rural setting. The cemetery has an approximate capacity of 24,000 gravesites for our veterans and their spouses.

In 2016, the Memorial is being expanded to accommodate additional permanent dedications to those who have served our country. VCP Veterans Community Project: VETERANS VILLAGE IN KC UNVEILS FIRST TINY HOUSE FOR HOMELESS VETS. Location is 89th and Troost (1201 East 89th Street, KC, MO 64131) Frustrated about homeless veterans who couldn’t come in from the cold, an alliance of local men from three different branches of the military came together last winter to create Veterans Community Project, a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization to build tiny houses for homeless veterans in the Kansas City area.
Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide initiative to help veterans, transitioning service members, and military spouses find meaningful employment opportunities.
OUR MISSION: To unite combat veterans in an equine environment to network with each other in order to assist with transitioning from combatant to civilian or military garrison life.
St Michaels Veterans Center stands on 24 acres located on Kansas City’s east side, the St. Michael’s Veterans Center campus serves as a beacon of hope to military veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
The American Legion Band of Greater Kansas City The Band traveled to Cincinnati August 26-29 for the 98th National American Legion Convention. Program selections this year were Children’s March (Grainger), Bullets and Bayonets (Sousa), and An Original Suite (Gordon Jacob). The band performed exceptionally well, earning a score of 93.7 and was named 2016 Champion at the National Concert Band contest.
